Passport

·Validity minimum three months from the date of expiry of the requested visa.

·Signed by bearer

·Passport not older than 10 years (issued in the last 10 years)

·At least two free „visa pages“

·Undamaged pictures securely affixed with/to passport

·Previous passport if applicable

IMPORTANT: valid UAE residence permit (valid at least three months from the date of expiry of the requested visa / intended end of journey)

Two recent biometric passport sized photographs (3.5x4,5 cm) Requirements:

·NEW! Should NOT be older than 6 months.

·A frontal view of the face covering 70-80% (32-26mm) of the photo.

·A uniform and white background.

·Clear facial features and eyes – not covered by hair or glasses frame.

Photocopies

·1 passport copy of pages containing personal data

·1 copy of the signature page( signed by passport holder)

·1 copy of UAE residence permit

·Copies of previous Schengen visa – if applicable-

·For GCC Nationals- Copy of valid Emirates ID card

Overseas medical insurance

Requirements:

·Valid for the entire duration of the requested visa and for all Schengen countries.

·Minimum coverage 30,000 € and repatriation. (Medical insurances of credit cards are not accepted)

·Conditions must be stated either on insurance document or on separate confirmation letter

Flight Reservation

Proof of Relationship:

·Evidence of relationship (e.g. copy of marriage certificate, birth certificate) Relative’s copy of UAE resident permit

·For Spouses: informal letter from the GER/EU spouse confirming the continuity of marriage

A.) Tourism purpose

·Valid (existing) hotel booking / reservation with full address (name, street, city, zip code, contact information, booking ref.), if necessary letter giving explanations of travel plans;

If visa is needed for a longer period, please indicate and state time-frame

B.) Visit Purpose (e.g. visiting family and friends):

·Formal obligation letter by the host in Germany giving the guarantee to cover all costs, also in accordance with §§ 66-68 of the Law of Residence, original (no older than 6 months) and in copy sent to the applicant; and /or

Personalized original invitation letter of the host in Germany (if not identical with German / EU relative) with full address giving details whether travel expenses of applicant (e.g. accommodation, meals, and travel costs) and reflecting purpose of visit including planned travel itinerary. Note: If applicant covers own expenses, further documentation is required (e.g. bank statements, etc.)

Additional documents for minors below the age of 18 (if applicable) – proving legal parenthood:

·Copy and German or English translation of either birth certificate / proof of adoption / custody decree if parents are divorced / death certificate of parent (Consulate reserves the right to request the original document at a later stage)

·Documents need to be translated into either German or English

„Letter of consent“ from parents, including passport copies and valid UAE residence visa copies of both parents/ legal guardian

Letter from local employer / sponsor (NOL) including name, postal address and telephone number of sponsor/company , with details regarding applicant’s working position, starting date of employment and salary and timeframe of work leave (expected date to resume duties) and purpose of travel. Additionally valid trade license copy for investor/partner of company.

In case of dependents- copy of sponsor’s valid passport and UAE residence visa to be attached to letter from sponsor.

Only applicable, if applicant has NO previous Schengen Visa from UAE German Consulate

a)by applicant, if on own visa in the UAE:

·Letter from local employer / sponsor including name, postal address and telephone number of sponsor/company , with details regarding applicant’s working position, starting date of employment and salary and timeframe of work leave (expected date to resume duties) and purpose of travel. Additionally valid trade license copy for investor/partner of company.

·Proof of financial means in the UAE, e.g. personal bank statements at least the last 3 months before application, personal property, assets, others.

b) by German/ EU spouse/parent if applicant is sponsored by same:

·Letter from local employer / sponsor including name, postal address and telephone number of sponsor /company , with details regarding applicant’s working position, starting date of employment and salary and timeframe of work leave (expected date to resume duties) and purpose of travel. Valid trade license copy for investor/partner of company.

Proof of financial means in the UAE, e.g. personal bank statements at least the last 3 months before application, personal property, assets, others ….
