The entry with dogs, cats and ferrets from non-EU countries (so-called third countries) to the European Union is strictly regulated in order to provide protection against the introduction and spread of rabies.

Please make sure to inquire and get the necessary information before starting your trip with your pets. If you transit through another country on your way to e.g. Germany, please inquire at the diplomatic missions or any other competent authority of the transit country about their rules for the import of pets and other animals.
